Aug. 26, 2016—Construction crews working at the site of the university’s new Vanderbilt Barnard residential college will begin blasting at the location on Monday, Sept. 12.
Aug. 9, 2016—The Vanderbilt football team opens its 2016 season on Thursday, Sept. 1, with a nationally televised game against South Carolina. With the game being played on a workday, some adjustments to parking and traffic flow are necessary.
Jun. 7, 2016—A project to install chilled water lines from Vanderbilt’s Power Plant to the new Engineering and Science Building and Olin Hall continues, closing parts of 24th Avenue South as well as Garland Avenue for several weeks this summer.
Feb. 25, 2016—A project to install chilled water lines from Vanderbilt’s Power Plant to the new Engineering and Science Building and Olin Hall will close part of 24th Avenue South for multiple weeks this spring and summer, beginning Saturday, March 5.
Feb. 9, 2016—The Hot Chocolate 15/5k is coming to Nashville Saturday, Feb. 13. Road closures will be in effect, including two westbound lanes of West End Avenue.
Feb. 7, 2016—From 3 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, the portion of 23rd Avenue between Children’s Way and the east entrance to South Garage will be closed so that maintenance can be performed on the electrical transformer located inside the garage.
Jan. 6, 2016—The removal of a crane necessary for the construction of the Engineering and Science Building will close Garland Avenue between 24th Avenue South and 25th Avenue South from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Aug. 27, 2015—Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt will kick off the construction phase of the “Growing to New Heights” campaign to expand the Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Please make note of the following road closures and changes to traffic.

Jun. 30, 2015—Vanderbilt will host country music artist Luke Bryan in concert on Saturday, July 11, at Vanderbilt Stadium. The week prior to the event, there will be lane and road closures in and around the stadium area.
Apr. 7, 2015—Nashville Chalk Fest, a free two-day street festival benefiting the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center’s Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, is scheduled for April 11-12. The event will close several streets in Hillsboro Village from Friday, April 10, at 9 a.m. through Sunday, April 12, at midnight.
