Jan. 6, 2016—The removal of a crane necessary for the construction of the Engineering and Science Building will close Garland Avenue between 24th Avenue South and 25th Avenue South from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Aug. 27, 2015—Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt will kick off the construction phase of the “Growing to New Heights” campaign to expand the Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Please make note of the following road closures and changes to traffic.
Aug. 13, 2015—Vanderbilt opens its 2015 football season on Thursday, Sept. 3, with a nationally televised game on the SEC Network against Western Kentucky University. With the game being played on a workday, some adjustments in parking and traffic flow are necessary.
Aug. 5, 2015—A large portion of 24th Avenue South from Kensington Place to just north of the Vanderbilt Orthopedic Surgery/Free Electron Laser Building will be closed from Monday, Aug. 10, to Friday, Aug. 14, to accommodate a construction project in the area.
Apr. 7, 2015—Nashville Chalk Fest, a free two-day street festival benefiting the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center’s Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, is scheduled for April 11-12. The event will close several streets in Hillsboro Village from Friday, April 10, at 9 a.m. through Sunday, April 12, at midnight.
Mar. 31, 2015—The northbound lane of Natchez Trace between Children’s Way and Jess Neely Drive will be closed beginning Saturday, April 4, through Monday, April 20. This two-week closure is made necessary by construction being done on the McGugin Center addition.
Mar. 20, 2015—The westbound lane of Highland Avenue will be closed March 23, 24 and 25 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day due to construction at the nearby Science and Engineering Building site, but access to the 25th Avenue Garage will remain open to faculty and staff.
Feb. 11, 2015—The Hot Chocolate 15k/5k is coming to Nashville Feb. 14. Road closures will be in effect, including two westbound lanes of West End Avenue.
Nov. 13, 2014—The north entrance drive for Vanderbilt University Hospital will be closed from Monday, Nov. 17, through Friday, Nov. 21, between 10 p.m.–4:30 a.m. each night.
