Smith to serve as chair of Immersion Faculty Steering Committee; schools appoint key faculty leaders for program
Dec. 5, 2018—A new group of faculty members have been appointed to leadership and advisory roles designed to support the continued launch of Immersion Vanderbilt across campus.
Oct. 19, 2018—The iSeminars are intended to encourage first-year students to pursue their passions by modeling rigorous, compelling and unique projects in addition to exposing students to a particular seminar theme.
Oct. 18, 2018—The Nichols Humanitarian Fund enables Vanderbilt students to pursue humanitarian missions at home and across the globe. Interested students are encouraged to attend the annual reception and open house Oct. 25.
Sep. 23, 2018—In support of Design as an Immersive Vanderbilt Experience, the Center for Teaching is hosting a learning community this fall for faculty, staff and students interested in teaching design thinking.

Feb. 13, 2018—Developing a formal plan to bring more librarians' expertise into the undergraduate research experience was among the winning ideas in the Wild Bunch Library Design Challenge for Vanderbilt students.
Dec. 7, 2017—Immersion Vanderbilt will become a degree requirement for all incoming first-year students starting in fall 2018, all incoming sophomore transfer students starting in fall 2019, and all junior transfer students starting in fall 2020. This initiative follows on the heels of the four undergraduate schools’ formal review and approval of Immersion Vanderbilt during the last calendar year.
Sep. 20, 2017—The fourth annual Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Fair was a successful showcase of 147 student poster presentations, with more than 300 faculty, students, staff and community members in attendance.
Sep. 18, 2017—Kevin Galloway, hired last year as the university’s director of making, recently was appointed as the Design as an Immersive Vanderbilt Experience (DIVE) director and will play an integral role in upcoming hackathons, makeathons and design courses.
