Sep. 28, 2020—The seventh annual Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Fair is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8, from 1:30 to 6 p.m. The virtual event will feature poster presentations of student research projects representative of a variety of fields and disciplines.
Sep. 24, 2020—Registration is underway to present at the inaugural Vanderbilt Undergraduate Creative Expression Showcase scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11. The showcase is open to all undergraduate students across the university who wish to showcase creative works they have completed during their time at Vanderbilt.
Immersion Vanderbilt recommended but not required for Class of 2022; modification made due to constraints of pandemic
Sep. 2, 2020—Due to the unprecedented challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, undergraduate students in the Class of 2022 will now have a flexible option for the Immersion Vanderbilt requirement.
Aug. 25, 2020—The seventh annual Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Fair is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8. This year’s event will be virtual, complete with presenters, breakout sessions and a chance to safely and responsibly interact with students, faculty and staff from across campus.
Jul. 27, 2020—The Office of Immersion Resources is extending its hours for virtual advising appointments in response to the challenges created by COVID-19 and to accommodate students in different time zones.
Feb. 18, 2020—The April 1 deadline to submit Immersion plan proposals is approaching for students who matriculated during the summer and fall of 2018. Students in all phases of Immersion project planning will find helpful resources at the “Spring Into Immersion” events hosted throughout the month of March.
Jan. 7, 2020—The Office of Immersion Resources and the Scientific Immersion and Mentorship student organization have partnered to organize Explorations in Research, an event designed to convene researchers from all disciplines for an evening of networking and discovery.
Jun. 20, 2019—A group of Vanderbilt students from a diverse array of majors took part in “the experience of a lifetime” when they participated in a faculty-led Maymester class that took them across France, including a stop at the Cannes Film Festival. Jan. 11, 2019—Tickets for "The Hate U Give" author Angie Thomas’ Feb. 13 lecture in Langford Auditorium are sold out; however, there will be a live stream available in Light Hall, Room 202, for those who were not able to procure a ticket. If seats become available in Langford on the night of the event, admission to the lecture for those without tickets will be available on a first-come basis.
Smith to serve as chair of Immersion Faculty Steering Committee; schools appoint key faculty leaders for program
