Hall Professor and associate dean for research at the Vanderbilt School of Engineering, will receive the 2018 FOMMS Medal in July at the seventh triennial Foundations of Molecular Modeling and Simulation conference, where he will deliver the FOMMS Medal Lecture.
Feb. 23, 2018—Robert W. Pitz and Sankaran Mahadevan are members of the 2018 class of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics fellows. They join 20 other members from academia, industry and government honored by the AIAA.
Feb. 20, 2018—Sandra Rosenthal, the Jack and Pamela Egan Professor of Chemistry and director of the Vanderbilt Institute for Nanoscale Science and Engineering, is being recognized for her development of nanocrystal probes for neuroscience and white-light emitting nanocrystals as well as her leadership in the NSF-funded TN-SCORE program.
Feb. 20, 2018—Engineering professors Sharon Weiss and Anita Mahadevan-Jansen have been named fellows of The Optical Society (OSA), a leading international association for optics and photonics. In addition, Weiss has been named a fellow of SPIE, the international society advancing an interdisciplinary approach to the science and application of light.
