21st Avenue Pedestrian Bridge to be closed for repairs, maintenance June 28 to July 18
Vanderbilt’s north pedestrian bridge over 21st Avenue South will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Friday, June 28, until Thursday, July 18, for repairs and maintenance. This work will also result in periodic lane closures along 21st Avenue South. Read MoreJun 14, 2024

Opening of Vanderbilt’s Oliver C. Carmichael College completes 12-year West End Neighborhood construction
The 160,000-square-foot Oliver C. Carmichael College will join E. Bronson Ingram, Nicholas S. Zeppos and Rothschild as the final residential college in the West End Neighborhood, concluding 12 years of construction. The transformation of the West End Neighborhood is part of FutureVU, a framework for campus planning that embodies the university’s core values and holistic approach to its mission of teaching, research and service, while prioritizing inclusivity and sustainability. VUMC to partially close two lanes of traffic on 21st Avenue South
Beginning Tuesday, May 28, Vanderbilt University Medical Center will close two lanes on 21st Avenue between Edgehill Avenue and Vivian Thomas Way to replace an underground water line. Signs of spring: VU Arboretum grows by 35 trees
Springtime in the Vanderbilt University Arboretum fills campus with buds and blooms, and new trees find their home across the grounds. At the beginning of April, people walking around campus may have noticed landscapers planting trees in the arboretum. Utility work planned April 15–19 and May 20–23 will close a portion of Children’s Way during work hours
A section of Children’s Way between 24th Avenue and the Children’s Way entrance of the West Garage will be closed April 15–19 and May 20–23.
