Women’s Center and American Studies Program partner to amplify thought leadership among women and underrepresented groups
May. 24, 2019—The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center and the American Studies Program recently partnered to host the OpEd Project, a social venture and leadership organization with a focus on increasing the number of women and underrepresented experts contributing to key commentary forums in their respective fields.
Mar. 11, 2019—University administrators and faculty and staff committees are launching a series of surveys to seek feedback from Vanderbilt’s campus community with the goal of informing policy and programming decisions.
Feb. 18, 2019—Vanderbilt University’s 2017-18 public service announcement, “Vanderbilt University Connects,” took home the Emmy for best “Promo Spot/Image” from the MidSouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences at its 33rd annual awards ceremony Feb. 16 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
Jan. 30, 2019—Hiba Baroud, Jeffrey Bennett and Suzana Herculano-Houzel have been named to the first cohort of the Chancellor’s Public Voices Fellowship, a semester-long program designed to expand Vanderbilt’s global reach by amplifying the impact of faculty academic research.
Nov. 16, 2018—Two Vanderbilt video efforts have been recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Nashville/Midsouth Chapter.

Sep. 20, 2018—A new university website will better connect the Vanderbilt community to the various outlets for shared governance on campus and will serve as a repository for related best practice resources.
Jun. 19, 2018—A coordinated social media campaign by Vanderbilt's Division of Communications to promote activities surrounding last August's historic solar eclipse and inform the public about Vanderbilt's experts in the field has won a national Bronze award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
May. 18, 2018—The University Staff Advisory Council welcomed Vice Chancellor for Communications Steve Ertel as speaker at its May meeting. Last year, Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos identified the need to pull the communications functions from the Division of Public Affairs and recruited Ertel to champion the restructure.
Apr. 26, 2018—A report just released by the Committee for Enhancing Faculty Voices in the Public Sphere offers a trio of proposals to elevate Vanderbilt’s national and global profile while helping inform a public hungry for expert knowledge.
