Christian Ketel and Carrie Plummer, both associate professors of nursing, were recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners for their stewardship and successful outcomes of the Vanderbilt Mobile Vaccine Program. Since its start in March 2021, the mobile clinic has administered 15,000 COVID-19 vaccines to more than 6,500 people in Nashville and Bedford, Coffee, Rutherford, Williamson and Wilson counties. Vanderbilt's Mobile Vaccine Program grew quickly from a successful pilot in Nashville’s Mercury Courts community, where School of Nursing and VUMC have long run a clinic for homeless and low-income patients. The vaccine program has attracted participation from Vanderbilt faculty, staff and student volunteers as well as pharmacy students and faculty at nearby universities. Read More
