Blair Precollege Program
May. 13, 2019—Summer offerings available for teens and adults through the Blair School of Music includes a variety of courses, lectures and recitals.
Feb. 13, 2019—Associate Professor of Choral Studies Tucker Biddlecombe will make his Carnegie Hall conducting debut on Sunday, Feb. 17, helming Morten Lauridsen’s modern-day classic "Lux Aeterna." The production will include singers from the Blair Children’s Chorus program, specifically the Young Men’s Chorus, who will perform with choristers from five states accompanied by the New England Symphonic Ensemble.
Dec. 13, 2018—Learn gentle Tai Chi movements and breathing techniques with instructor Cindy Hui-Lio to help ease chronic stress and anxiety. Learn how to “tune in” to your body and balance your movements.
Jul. 19, 2018—From Kindermusik to private lessons in all orchestral and most folk instruments, the Blair School of Music offers a wide array of music-making opportunities to students from birth through adulthood.
Mar. 7, 2018—The Blair School of Music invites students in grades 1-12 to apply and audition for merit and need-based scholarships for private lesson instruction during the 2018-19 academic year.
Sep. 1, 2017—The Blair School of Music presents its Precollege Festival of Music on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Mar. 1, 2017—The Blair School of Music precollege scholarship application deadline is March 13. Auditions are held by appointment in March and April.
May. 19, 2016—In September, beginning-level piano lessons will be offered at the Blair School of Music at one-half the normal tuition rate for rising second-grade students who enroll through the Piano Pedagogy program.
Feb. 18, 2016—To help young musicians who qualify, Blair offers merit and need-based scholarships by audition to students in grades 3 through 12.
Jan. 19, 2016—Precollege music students Kaili Wang and Nolan Harvel, both Myra Jackson Blair Senior Honor Scholars at Blair School of Music, are gaining performance experience at notable venues both locally and nationally.
Jan. 12, 2016—Students in grades 8-12 are invited to join in the Jazz Jam, a once-per-week performance-oriented class whose goal is to share fun, creative approaches to jazz improvisation.
