Feb. 27, 2007— The game time for the Vanderbilt-Arkansas men‘s basketball game Saturday, March 3 at Memorial Gymnasium has been set for 12 p.m. CT. The contest will not be televised. Commodore fans are encouraged to arrive early and help show their appreciation for Vanderbilt seniors Derrick Byars, Dan Cage and Ted Skuchas who will be playing in their final home game. Feb. 23, 2007— Seven Vanderbilt teams are ranked in the top 25 for their sports nationally. Baseball leads the group with Vanderbilt‘s first ever No. 1 ranking for a men‘s sport. Women‘s basketball is ranked 12th and men‘s basketball is ranked 17th, both by the Associated Press. Women‘s tennis, golf, bowling, and lacrosse are also ranked in the top 25 nationally.
Dec. 19, 2006—The Vanderbilt Commodore Steel Band program started at the Blair School of Music in 2004 with a handful of students. This 2006 fall semester there were enough students to form three bands: one group of advanced members and two first-year groups, including the First and Ten Steel Band.
