Sep. 23, 2020—Ashley T. Smith, the practitioner advisor to the School of Engineering’s chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, is the recipient of the inaugural Richard H. Nettleton Outstanding Practitioner Advisor Award. Smith received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering at Vanderbilt in 2004.
Mar. 3, 2017—Area teens will watch their model bridges break apart dramatically Saturday, March 4, at the 9th Annual Music City Bridge Building Competition, organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers and Janey Camp, a Vanderbilt University civil engineering research associate professor.
Mar. 1, 2016—Glencliff High School has won the American Society of Civil Engineers bridge-building competition for the seventh time in the last eight years, with Glencliff students taking first, second and third places in the contest held at Vanderbilt's Laboratory for Systems Integrity and Reliability for the second consecutive year.
Feb. 24, 2016—The American Society of Civil Engineers' Music City Bridge Building Competition is being held Saturday, Feb. 27 at Vanderbilt University's Laboratory for Systems Integrity and Reliability.
