Vanderbilt engineering students Rais Nurhidajat, Jonathan Zak, Leo Brenes, and graduate student Andrew Noonan gained invaluable aerospace career experience this summer at the Vanderbilt Aerospace Design Laboratory. While practicing public interest law upon graduation has become more popular amongst law students, it still falls outside of the status quo. Assistant Dean and Martha Craig Daughtrey Director for Public Interest Beth Cruz, in partnership with the Career Services Office, held an informational panel for Vanderbilt Law students interested in practicing public interest law after graduation. The sustainability challenge encourages students to sign up for ReusePass and actively use reusable containers at dining locations. Points will be awarded based on how many signups and full cycle container returns each house completes throughout the academic year. Available to graduate students across disciplines, the Curb Public Scholars Program provides a two-year grant of $2,500 for public-facing creative projects, while the Creative Inquiry Grant Program awards various levels of funding ranging from $500 to $2,500 and is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and staff. The Buchanan Library Fellows program supports hands-on student learning opportunities that build desirable skills and deepen students’ understanding of resources and services in the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries. With a focus on undergraduate instruction, the program connects faculty and professional librarians with students to work on experiential library projects and present their work at the end of their fellowship.
