Actor, philanthropist Gary Sinise to deliver 2025 Graduates Day address

Matthew Johnson-Roberson, a visionary technology scholar and highly accomplished academic leader, will be the inaugural dean of Vanderbilt University’s College of Connected Computing, the university’s first new college to be established in more than 40 years, C. Vanderbilt Law School receives $6.8 million gift to establish The Gail Anderson Cañizares Innocence Clinic
Vanderbilt Law School has received a gift from the Anbridge Charitable Fund to endow the creation of The Gail Anderson Cañizares Innocence Clinic, which will support the exoneration of wrongfully convicted individuals in Tennessee while providing students with hands-on case experience. The clinic, which will function as a course available to 2L and 3L students, launches in the 2026 spring semester and will coordinate with the Tennessee Innocence Project to source cases. Major Jackson, Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Chair in the Humanities, has been awarded the inaugural Patricia Cannon Willis Prize for American Poetry by Yale Library. The third time was indeed the charm for Blair music technology professor Pascal Le Boeuf, as he picked up the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition on Sunday, February 2, his third time to be nominated in the category. Vanderbilt breaks ground on Central Utilities Initiative Phase II; reminders about navigating construction on campus
The Central Utilities Initiative Phase I is nearly complete, including the Highland Energy Plant that will open in January 2025. Vanderbilt’s utilities upgrades will roll on in 2025, starting with the groundbreaking on CUI Phase II in early January. This work will transition the across 25th Avenue roadway east into Central Neighborhood.
