Vanderbilt University has been chosen by the National Science Foundation to lead the new Mid-South Innovation Corps Hub, a group of nine universities that make up a regional coalition of diverse, tech-forward institutions to promote inclusive innovation, spur economic development and prosperity and transform Midsouth metro areas into growth and commercialization centers for STEM-related technologies.

SEC Nation will broadcast live from the Vanderbilt campus on Saturday, Sept. 10, in the lead up to the Commodore football team’s game against Wake Forest. All Vanderbilt students, staff, faculty, alumni, family members and fans are invited to come to the Commons Lawn and be part of the show.

Renderings of new tennis facility unveiled
 
The latest chapter of Vandy United was highlighted Sept. 8 when artists’ renderings of the Lummis Family Tennis Center were unveiled. Fred and Claudia Lummis, both BA’76, and their sons Fred III, Dan, BA’05, and Ben, BA’08, made a lead gift with the goal of inspiring other alumni and donors to champion state-of-the-art tennis facilities to benefit both the Vanderbilt and greater Nashville communities.

New privacy-friendly capacity-monitoring technology is available at each Vanderbilt Campus Dining location, allowing students to see how busy the dining halls are during business hours. The technology also has been deployed in the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries, providing real-time capacity data for study spaces across campus.
