WATCH: Celebrating the Class of 2022
 
Chancellor Daniel Diermeier congratulated the Class of 2022 for their “persistence, patience and above all, courage” during the past four years when he delivered his Commencement address at Vanderbilt Stadium on May 13. An estimated 14,000 guests joined graduates of the university’s 147th class during an in-person main ceremony that was livestreamed on Vanderbilt’s website.

The Vanderbilt community is invited to attend a virtual conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, May 16, at 10 a.m. CT hosted by the Association of American Universities. Zelenskyy will discuss how America’s leading research universities and Ukrainian officials and educators can work together to help rebuild his country’s decimated higher education sector.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of life in Buffalo, New York, and horrified by reports that the incident Saturday afternoon was racially motivated, write Chancellor Daniel Diermeier, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs C. Vanderbilt Mobile Vaccine Program recognized by American Association of Nurse Practitioners
 
Christian Ketel and Carrie Plummer, both associate professors of nursing, were recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners for their stewardship and successful outcomes of the Vanderbilt Mobile Vaccine Program. Since its start in March 2021, the mobile clinic has administered 15,000 COVID-19 vaccines to more than 6,500 people in Nashville and Bedford, Coffee, Rutherford, Williamson and Wilson counties.

Commons houses to undergo furniture, flooring upgrades this summer
 
The Office of Housing and Residential Experience will upgrade student rooms in Stambaugh, Murray and North houses on The Martha Rivers Ingram Commons this summer. From May 16 through July 15, beds, case goods and hard-surface flooring will be replaced.

Neurodiversity Inspired Science and Engineering graduate trainee program now accepting applications
 
Applications are open through June 15 for the Neurodiversity Inspired Science and Engineering graduate trainee program. The NISE program engages students across STEM disciplines in the development, deployment and commercialization of future of work at the human technology frontier (FW-HTF) approaches and devices that support neurodiverse individuals, and/or that are inspired by their abilities.
