8.   Vanderbilt Law School announces $17.5M bequest from W. Weldon Wilson, JD’86, to extend scholarship program
    Vanderbilt Law School Board of Advisors member W. Weldon Wilson, JD’86, and his wife, Elaine, have documented a $17.5 million bequest to support their existing Weldon Wilson Scholarship at Vanderbilt Law School.     Rising seniors Alexandra Duncan, Andrew Hanna and Ethan Nguyen have been named 2022 Barry A. Goldwater Scholars, joining 2021 Goldwater Scholar and fellow rising senior Joseph Sexton. The Goldwater Scholarship is the nation’s most competitive scholarship for undergraduate STEM students who show exceptional promise for becoming the nation’s next generation of research leaders. 11.   Excellence in Podcasting award winners honored at reception
    Vanderbilt University’s second Excellence in Podcasting competition was held during the spring 2022 semester. Awards were presented in April to the students whose podcast submissions exemplified the goals of the competition: using audio storytelling to communicate ideas, share perspectives, make arguments and persuade others. 12.   Peabody graduate students partner with Campus Dining to improve employee safety
    Peabody College graduate students Sara Davis and Burcak Kaynar spent the spring semester conducting an analysis of the language of safety in Vanderbilt Campus Dining operations. In an effort to improve overall employee safety, they focused on the use of large machines in Campus Dining facilities by multilingual employees. [ Read More ]
     
     
13.   Vanderbilt announces closure of COVID-19 testing center during summer 2022
    The Vanderbilt University COVID-19 testing center at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center will close operations for the summer, beginning May 16. Because of the reduced population and continued low positivity rates on campus, the asymptomatic testing program is also suspended. [ Read More ]
