Kimberly Welch, associate professor of history and assistant professor of law, has been awarded a 2022 Dan David Prize. The internationally renowned annual award, headquartered at Tel Aviv University, gives prizes of $300,000 each to nine early- to mid-career history scholars whose outstanding contributions expand knowledge of the past, enrich society in the present and promise to improve the future of the world.

| Ben Jordan, esteemed professor for generations of engineering students, has died |

Benjamin Thomas Jordan Jr., associate professor of the practice of engineering management, died Feb. 21 in Nashville following a brief illness. He was 79. Jordan was an active faculty member in the Division of General Engineering and had been teaching three engineering management courses this semester.
