New phone billing rates in effect as of July 1

Jun. 19, 2015—Dell is offering a free 32” LG TV to students and employees who spend at least $699.99 on a personal computer.
VU community to dial full 10 digits for local calls beginning July 15
Jun. 17, 2015—Starting July 15, members of the Vanderbilt community will need to dial full 10-digit numbers when making calls to local off-campus numbers. Five-digit dialing will still be in effect for on-campus calls.
Customers to receive credits for some Lync long-distance calls made in April
May. 28, 2015—During April, Vanderbilt IT experienced an issue with the termination of some Lync long-distance calls that resulted in overcharges. Customers who were incorrectly charged will receive their appropriate credits in May.

Update on website service outage
Feb. 26, 2015—Certain Vanderbilt departmental websites and Web services have been experiencing an outage since Feb. 24. Some websites have been restored to normal operations, and VUIT is working with Web administrators and departments to restore the remaining sites.
What you need to know about 10-digit dialing, coming to Nashville Feb. 28
Feb. 25, 2015—Beginning Feb. 28, all local phone providers will require phone users in Middle Tennessee to dial the entire 10-digit phone number when making local calls. Learn more about how this change will affect the Vanderbilt community.
Make note of security issues in new Outlook iOS and Android app
Feb. 16, 2015—Vanderbilt IT would like to raise the community’s awareness about security issues with the new Outlook application for iOS and Android devices launched by Microsoft in January.
OAK retired; Blackboard now 21 times faster
Feb. 9, 2015—Following Vanderbilt IT's migration of OAK to Blackboard-managed hosting in December, the OAK name has been retired. The tool is now called Blackboard and boasts much faster speeds and a more modern environment.
