He will serve as president beginning in January 2018.
Nov. 29, 2016—Scott McCarver, Associate Operating Office for Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and Clinics, has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital.
Oct. 27, 2016—Sten Vermund, M.D., Ph.D., assistant vice president for Global Health and a member of the Vanderbilt University faculty since 2005, has been named dean of the Yale School of Public Health. He will begin this new role at Yale on Feb. 1, 2017.
Oct. 13, 2016—In what could be a way to predict which children might be vulnerable to anxiety disorders, a Vanderbilt study has shown that an altered prefrontal cortex function in the brain marks a heightened anxiety risk in children.
Oct. 13, 2016—Rizwan Hamid, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University, has been named chief of the Division of Pediatric Genetics and Genomic Medicine, effective Jan. 1, 2017.
