All Vanderbilt University staff are invited to attend the annual Spring Staff Assembly, either at Vanderbilt’s Langford Auditorium or virtually, on Wednesday, May 13. The event will celebrate university staff and their many contributions to the university’s mission.

3–4 p.m. — Official Program
The official program, starting at 3 p.m. in Langford Auditorium, will feature remarks from Chancellor Daniel Diermeier, Vice Chancellor of People, Culture and Belonging Sydney Savion and University Staff Advisory Council President Jennifer Bennett. The spring awards for staff excellence will be presented at the event.
In-person seating will be on a first come, first served basis. The program will be livestreamed on the Vanderbilt Employee Appreciation webpage and recorded for later viewing.
For those who attend in person, the celebration extends before and after the official program:
2–3 p.m. — Resource Tables and Giveaways
Come early, starting at 2 p.m., for resource tables and exciting giveaways, available on a first come, first served basis.
At 2:15 p.m., there will be a 15-minute live demonstration of the Talent Marketplace from People, Culture and Belonging in the auditorium. The Talent Marketplace is designed to help you better understand your skills, grow with intention and explore career opportunities across Vanderbilt. The first 75 guests will receive a free gift.
4–5 p.m. — Reception
Join fellow staff members for continued celebration at the reception after the program.
Parking and Security
- Parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage, through the Highland Avenue entrance.
- At the entrance to Langford Auditorium, attendees will go through metal detectors and may have their bags searched. This is standard policy for VUMC event spaces. Please allow extra time for arrival ahead of the main program.
About the staff assemblies:
Upon his arrival in 2020, Chancellor Diermeier began the tradition of fall and spring assemblies to recognize and celebrate staff. The awards for individual and group staff recognition at the spring assembly are: Commodore Award, Excellence in Culture Award, Vanderbilt Early Impact Award, Mentorship Excellence Award, One Vanderbilt Excellence Award and Chancellor’s Award for Exemplary Service.
