Discovery Dialogues, a new podcast being launched April 6 by the Vanderbilt Graduate School, brings doctoral research and graduate student voices to the forefront. The podcast series spotlights the scholarship, ideas and academic experiences of Vanderbilt Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scholars through thoughtful, in-depth conversations with podcast host Nick Hyer, program manager for the Graduate and Postdoc Academic Success program.
Designed to make research more accessible while highlighting the people behind it, each episode invites listeners into conversations with doctoral students and postdocs as they reflect on their research and the realities of life as a graduate or postdoc scholar.
The podcast will feature Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scholars representing a range of disciplines, each offering insight into the questions driving their work and the impact it has within and beyond the university. The conversations also explore the support systems and university resources that have shaped their academic journeys, providing a fuller picture of graduate and postdoc education at Vanderbilt.
By centering our Graduate School community, Discovery Dialogues showcases the vital contributions graduate students and postdocs make to the university’s research mission and academic community. The podcast not only celebrates their scholarship but also offers an honest look at the daily experiences of graduate study, its challenges, discoveries and moments of growth.
Discovery Dialogues will be available on all major podcast platforms. Listeners can expect engaging conversations, new perspectives, and a deeper appreciation for the work and voices of Vanderbilt’s Graduate School and postdoc community.
