Vanderbilt University may submit only one application to the CFMT Community Impact Grants competition.
Overview
Community Impact Grants focus on three key areas: Arts & Creative Culture, Child/Youth Development & Education and Positive Mental Health. Each of these areas is integral to supporting a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone can thrive.
CFMT anticipates award amounts ranging from $15,000 to approximately $30,000 per award over a 1-year period.
Arts & Creative Culture: invests in and partners with nonprofits committed to ensuring greater cultural participation and equitable access to artistic experiences. Funding goals include:
- Expand access to cultural experiences for individuals from low-wealth communities.
- Support initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion and representation in the arts.
- Promote innovative approaches to making the arts more accessible, sustainable and impactful.
Child/Youth Development & Education: supports nonprofit organizations or networks that implement holistic approaches to address the diverse needs of young people’s overall growth, success and lifelong resilience – inside and outside of school. Funding goals include:
- Promote evidence-based practices and innovative approaches that integrate academic support and instruction with social-emotional learning principles.
- Create supportive environments during out-of-school hours that promote positive youth development and well-being.
- Strengthen partnerships and collaborations among schools, youth-serving organizations and families to support the holistic development of young people.
Positive Mental Health: supports non-profit organizations that provide mental and behavioral health services for vulnerable populations, especially children and youth, seniors, disabled/differently-abled communities and caregivers. Funding goals include:
- Increase access to mental health services and support for vulnerable populations, including counseling, addiction recovery, peer support and crisis intervention.
- Foster social connectedness and community support networks.
- Advance greater mental health outcomes by strengthening collaboration and partnerships, including healthcare providers, social service agencies, schools and community organizations.
