As part of the Central Utilities Initiative, phased underground boring and exploratory work will take place from Dec. 9 to Jan. 16, resulting in periodic lane and sidewalk closures.
The underground work will be in four locations:
Area A, Dec. 9–19
Area B, Dec. 23 to Jan. 3
Area C, Jan. 6–8
Area D, Jan. 9–13
Area E, Jan. 14–16
The noise and disruption from this underground work is expected to be minimal.
Vehicles
- Single lane closures will occur periodically, but two-way traffic will be maintained at all times.
- Work will be daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Pedestrians
Pedestrians should be aware that these lane closures could include nearby sidewalk closures. Pedestrians should follow the signs, and an accessible pathway will always be available.
All pedestrian and vehicle routes are subject to change. Updates will be shared in MyVU and on the Facilities Instagram and X accounts.
