Vanderbilt University’s Office of Emergency Management will host its annual tabletop exercise on Thursday, Dec. 5. This exercise underscores OEM’s commitment to campus safety and emergency preparedness.
The exercise, a collaborative, scenario-based discussion, allows participants to simulate response to an emergency situation in a classroom setting. With representatives from Vanderbilt departments and Nashville-area responding agencies, the exercise brings key stakeholders together to analyze challenges, refine response protocols and practice collaboration in a low-stakes setting.
The exercise aims to:
- Assess the university’s readiness to respond to a campus incident
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing plans, policies, procedures and training
- Identify improvements to current materials and resources to strengthen preparedness
Through these objectives, insights gained will help enhance campus safety and strengthen partnerships with local response agencies.
Questions about this exercise can be directed to the Office of Emergency Management.
