Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to choose the benefits that best meet the needs of you and your family. To ensure you’re enrolled in your desired plans, all benefits-eligible employees must complete Open Enrollment, even if you do not plan to make changes or waive coverage.
Open Enrollment will take place on MyVU Benefits between 12 a.m. CT Oct. 21, and 11:59 p.m. CT Nov. 4, 2024. You can make or change your elections as often as you would like during this time. Keep in mind, you must complete the entire enrollment process and confirm your elections in order to ensure you have the benefits you want in place for 2025.

Consider your choices carefully! Once open enrollment ends, you will not be able to make changes to your benefits unless you experience a qualifying life event, such as getting married or having a baby. Benefits selected during the enrollment period will begin Jan. 1, 2025.
On campus information labs
The Benefits team will be on campus to assist with answering your benefits and open enrollment questions. The informational labs take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Sarratt 325/327 and Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in Kissam 210.
What’s changed for 2025?
- New benefits administrator and enrollment site
- Premiums have increased slightly from 2024
- Reduction in rates for Supplemental Life and Long-Term Disability coverage
- Part-time benefits-eligible employees are now able to enroll in VU’s dental and vision plans
2025 health insurance premiums
2025 monthly health insurance payroll premiums are now available on the Open Enrollment website. If you are paid bi-weekly or weekly, these amounts will be divided equally between all of your paychecks of each month. VU’s health plan rates for 2025 increased by 2.6 percent over 2024 rates.
