Piedmont Natural Gas to conduct work near campus, overnight lane closures planned

Starting on Monday, Sept. 23, Piedmont Natural Gas will conduct underground utility work near the Frist Athletics Village on Vanderbilt’s campus.  

Vehicle 

  • One northbound lane of 28th Avenue South at the intersection of Vanderbilt Place will be closed Sept. 23–Oct. 3, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. 
  • The southbound lane of Natchez Trace will be closed from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. just south of Vanderbilt Place, Oct. 6–17 
  • All roads will be open daily from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. 
  • Two-way traffic will always be maintained with the help of traffic controllers  

Pedestrian 

  • Temporary sidewalk closures may occur; traffic controllers and signs will be on site to direct pedestrians  

All pedestrian and vehicle routes are subject to change. Updates will be shared in MyVU and on the Facilities Instagram and X accounts.
