In a bipartisan effort to engage and inform the Vanderbilt community, Dialogue Vanderbilt and the Civil Discourse Lab is launching a series of Insight Debates, participatory conversations encouraging students and providing them with tools to speak up in classroom and casual settings with confidence when others disagree, listen with greater awareness and comfort to differing perspectives, and remember that people who disagree are simply that—people.
The first debate, ‘Vanderbilt Insight Debate on Institutional Neutrality,’ will be held on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Seigenthaler Center Forum Room. The topic will delve into whether Vanderbilt should maintain its policy of institutional neutrality. Registration using your Vanderbilt email address is required to attend; food will be provided and a reception will follow.
