Vanderbilt University’s undergraduate Class of 2024 will have a unique backdrop for their May 10 Commencement ceremony: Geodis Park. The 30,000-seat stadium, home to Nashville SC, is the largest soccer-specific stadium in the U.S. and Canada. Four miles from campus, Geodis is Nashville’s newest sports and entertainment venue.
The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be held rain or shine. Interactive activities will be set up inside and around the outside of the stadium to provide students and their guests with things to do before and after the ceremony.
The ceremony will also be livestreamed on the Commencement website.
Transportation details
Shuttles will transport graduates and their guests to the stadium from campus and other nearby locations.
Graduates will get information later about how to line up for the processional when they get off the shuttles. Guests will enter the stadium from through entrances B and C. The only available parking on site at Geodis will be ADA designated.

Additional Commencement ceremonies
Graduate and professional student Commencement ceremonies will be on campus. Colleges and schools will release information about their specific locations in the coming weeks.
Students will also get information from their respective campus organizations about graduate recognition ceremonies in the days leading up to Commencement.
Graduates Day
David Brooks, an internationally acclaimed journalist whose work has shaped timely conversations around controversial and complex issues, will receive Vanderbilt University’s prestigious Nichols-Chancellor’s Medal when he speaks at the university’s 2024 Commencement activities. Brooks’ Graduates Day address will be on May 9 at 11 a.m. at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center Indoor Practice Facility. The Commencement Celebration will take place at the same location immediately following the speaker event.
