New Muslim employee affinity group will foster inclusivity and support

The Muslim Staff and Faculty Association, launching this month, is the latest employee affinity group formed to bring together faculty and staff who share interests, backgrounds, identities and common bonds.

The MSAFA aims to create a vibrant and inclusive community for Muslim people and their allies at Vanderbilt. Led by a mission that encapsulates inclusivity, support, education and dialogue, the MSAFA seeks to contribute positively to the university community.

How to join

The MSAFA is open to all university staff and faculty who identify as Muslim or have an interest in supporting the Muslim faculty and staff experience. Interested individuals can join by reaching out to the leadership by email and completing the application process.

MSAFA plans to host meetings on the last Friday of each month. These sessions will be an opportunity to highlight staff and faculty achievements, plan and share upcoming events and facilitate networking among colleagues. An interest meeting will be on Feb. 13, 12:30–1:30 p.m., in the Alumni Hall Reading Room.
