Limited Submission Opportunity: Lisa & Douglas Goldman Fund Grants Program

Vanderbilt University may submit only one letter of inquiry to the Lisa & Douglas Goldman Fund. The Lisa & Douglas Goldman Fund is a private foundation committed to providing support for charitable organizations that enhance our society.

Note: This program only accepts proposals for projects that are implemented nationally/across multiple states. For more information, visit the program interests and priorities page.

The Goldman Fund supports organizations that are making valuable contributions to the following fields:

  • Democracy and civil liberties
  • Education and literacy
  • Environment
  • Jewish community
  • Reproductive health and rights

The Goldman Fund will not consider applications for:

  • Deficit budgets
  • Grants to individuals
  • General support
  • Research
  • Events or conferences
  • Books or periodicals
  • Production of documentaries and films
  • Organizations that support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel.

Award information

Please consider your organization’s budget, the project’s budget and other funding resources when requesting a grant. All requests must specify the amount of funding requested from the Goldman Fund. The Goldman Fund rarely provides support for 100 percent of a project’s budget.

In 2021, the foundation’s median award amount to institutions of higher education was $15,000.

Interested faculty should visit https://vanderbilt.infoready4.com/#competitionDetail/1925102 to submit an application for the internal LSO competition and to find additional information about the opportunity. The deadline for the internal competition is Jan. 23, 2024.
