The Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries will host an event on Monday, Sept. 18, to celebrate Constitution Day.
Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is observed each year to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, and to “recognize all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.”
On Sept. 18 the Central Library will distribute pocket Constitutions and other library materials in the main lobby from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cake will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. All in the Vanderbilt community are invited to participate.

In addition, National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, Sept. 19. To make the voting process easier for the Vanderbilt community, the university partners with TurboVote, an online service that walks users through the voter registration process and allows them to check their voter registration or sign up for election-related reminders.
