Four with a ‘Dore: Faeid Hassan

(@vanderbiltu / Vanderbilt University)

In the Four with a ‘Dore series, we’re getting to know Vanderbilt students four questions at a time. In today’s installment, meet Faeid Hassan from Queens, NY, a Class of 2025 student with majors in architecture and the built environment and art and a minor in business.

Q: Where have you found your strongest sense of community on campus?
A: VUcept has given me the most rewarding community on campus because of the way VUceptors care and because of the web and network you create through the experience. On campus, VUcept is a bridge to the university from members of the student body who really care about our incoming students. During fall training we really bonded through hours and hours of activities that brought us together as a community.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Nashville?
A: I’m a big concert person, so I’ve attended Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and all the other pop artists who have come through Nashville. It’s called Music City for a reason, so I try to make the most of that.

Q: What’s your favorite event you’ve attended on campus?
A: I performed in TDS recently and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had; from the bond I created with the group I was dancing with to the audience to the impact it had on me overall. That was the first performance I had ever taken part in and I learned a lot through it. I really love that annual South Asian celebration at Vanderbilt, that’s one of my favorite events.

Q: How have you grown during your time at Vanderbilt?
A: I’ve grown to recognize that I can learn from everyone I meet and every experience I’m a part of. I try to put myself out more now there because Vanderbilt has so many resources and everything is just here for us to learn and grow from.
