Chancellor Daniel Diermeier announced today that Vanderbilt University will grant a paid administrative closure day on Monday, July 3, providing employees with an extended Fourth of July holiday weekend.
“In the spirit of this week’s Giving Day, when so many of our community members came together to express their appreciation for this great university of ours, I want to show my own appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our employees during this extraordinarily busy spring semester,” Chancellor Diermeier said. “I hope this much-deserved paid day off will give staff extra time to rest, relax and celebrate Independence Day with family and friends.”
Staff who need to work on the administrative closure days or over winter break will receive alternate days off or pay for the administrative days, at management’s discretion.
