Center for Student Wellbeing, Vanderbilt Recovery Support to host Safe Spring Break Week March 6–9

Join the Center for Student Wellbeing and Vanderbilt Recovery Support for a series of wellness-focused events the week before Spring Break.  

Host Responsibility Training 

  • This alcohol and drug education presentation will prepare hosts to have safe and successful events through the discussion of Tennessee State Law, Vanderbilt Policy and DUI prevention strategies. Required annually for hosts of events where alcohol is present. 
  • Where: Center for Student Wellbeing classroom 
  • When: March 6, 12:15–1 p.m. 

Safe Spring Break Tabling 

  • Learn about and take home fentanyl test strips and safe RX bottles to create a safer spring break for you and those around you. 
  • Where: Rand Wall 
  • When: March 6, 11 a.m.– 1 p.m.  

Looking at the Big Picture: How AOD Use Impacts Mental Health Workshop 

  • Anxious after a night of drinking? According to USA TODAY, you may have “hangxiety,” or the feeling of anxiety or sadness that can follow an evening of heavy drinking or marijuana use. Research shows that even one night of drinking or cannabis use can impact mental health. The symptoms include increased worry, heart rate and anxiety along with general distress. This workshop will share strategies that focus on prevention and practical solutions when experiencing these symptoms. 
  • Where: Center for Student Wellbeing classroom 
  • When: March 7, noon–1 p.m. (poke bowls provided for lunch) 

Safe Spring Break Trivia Night  

  • Join the CSW as we prepare for a fun and safe spring break. Show up solo or with your team ready to show your trivia knowledge and win some prizes.  
  • Where: Center for Student Wellbeing classroom 
  • When: March 8, 6–7:30 p.m. (Jamaican food provided for dinner) 

CSW Open House  

  • Students, staff and faculty are invited to stop by the Center for Student Wellbeing during our Open House as we prepare for an enjoyable and safe spring break. Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of activities, including games, distorted vision goggle activities, freebies and safe spring break safety tips. 
  • When: March 9, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. (acai bowls provided for lunch)

Fentanyl testing strips, GHB testing cards, DisposeRX and locking pill bottles will be available at each event and at the CSW all week.
