The James Lawson Institute for the Research and Study of Nonviolent Movements is awarding a total of seven grants to undergraduate, graduate and professional students and postdoctoral scholars at Vanderbilt.
The James Lawson Institute grants are designed to provide recipients with an opportunity to build on their knowledge of nonviolent movement strategies; generate research beneficial to communities and organizations seeking to foster social justice; and integrate their learnings into their education at Vanderbilt University. Awardees will support one another as members of a cohort of grantees.
- Undergraduate students will be awarded up to $750.
- Graduate/professional students and postdocs will be awarded up to $3,000.
The application period for this year’s grants is currently open. Those who are interested are encouraged to apply by Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023.
