Applications for the 2023 Vanderbilt Undergraduate Summer Research Program will open on InfoReady on Tuesday, Oct. 25. VUSRP provides funding to students to work closely with a faculty member of their choosing on joint research efforts.
Awards of $5,000 are provided to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors engaged in 10 weeks of full-time research with a full-time Vanderbilt faculty member. Students can use their VUSRP experience to complete their Immersion Vanderbilt requirement.
Applications may span research in any field and across all disciplines. Examples of past projects include:
- “Fear of the Unknown in Perfectionists Can Lead to Social Anxiety”
- “Local Reprogramming of Tumor-associated Macrophages with Nano-in-cryogel Biomaterials”
- “Opera Intensive in Italy”
- “Vocal Temporal Dynamics of Parent-child Interactions in Autism Throughout a Parent-coaching Program: An Exploratory Study”
Deadlines and timelines
- Applications will be accepted Oct. 25–Jan. 13, 2023.
- The 2023 program’s 10 weeks of research will occur from June 5 to Aug. 11, 2023.

- The Writing Studio is hosting an application writing workshop to provide help with crafting a great application on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. in the Central Library Poetry Room.
