The Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Innovation is formally launching a new Research IT Voucher Program to support faculty and research staff to advance digital research projects. Vouchers of up to $5,000 are available by application on a semesterly basis this academic year. The first proposal deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Vouchers can be used to cover a variety of critical research IT needs, such as to subsidize the cost of research software that developers have provided via shared core services, networked storage and processing infrastructure, training resources and cloud services.

Program applicants must provide a one-page proposal outlining their project, need for voucher funds, plans for future work and plans for maintaining the proposed project after voucher funds are exhausted. Applications for vouchers will be reviewed by the Research IT Faculty Advisory Committee. Award decisions will be based on criteria including need and overall contribution to the research community. Awards will be announced two weeks after each proposal deadline.
