Geo-Jobe, on behalf of the Vanderbilt University Facilities department, will fly a fixed-wing drone over campus on Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Facilities department schedules a drone flyover twice a year to capture aerial footage and images of the tree canopy around campus. These images are also used by Facilities’ Geographic Information Services (GIS) department to update all campus maps to accurately reflect the campus.
The drone flight is university approved and not expected to disrupt any activities scheduled on campus. This flight is weather permitting, and if weather is unfavorable on Tuesday, a backup date will be announced at a later time.
