Parking lot 29B near Kensington Place and the football stadium’s north end zone is closing permanently on Monday, Sept. 5, as part of the Vandy United project.
Kensington Place between Natchez Trace and 25th Avenue will continue to be closed to thru traffic and pedestrian traffic. Nearby parking lots 71 and 64 are available for use.
The Kensington and 2525 West End parking garages will remain open to vehicular traffic. The Marriott Hotel will remain open, and visitors should enter the hotel from Natchez Trace.
The area will be closed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic for the duration of the project, including the sidewalk at the intersection of Kensington Avenue and Natchez Trace. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic should instead take 25th Avenue North to West End Avenue to cross over to Natchez Trace, or take 25th Avenue South to Jess Neely Drive to Natchez Trace. See the map for more details.
The accessible routes around the construction area are marked with signs, but if you need additional assistance, a pre-approved MobilityRide can be scheduled for any student, faculty or staff member with mobility needs. Faculty and staff should contact the Equal Opportunity and Access Office, and students should contact the Student Access Services Office, to get pre-approved.
For event coordinators who may have visitors on campus for conferences and workshops, staff should contact the MobilityRides program for guests with known mobility issues at least one week prior to an event date to determine accommodations for pre-approval. Last-minute requests are discouraged due to scheduling constraints.
