The following information is for faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars.
Important announcement: Due to rising inflation costs, the university is pausing the planned increase of parking rates that was announced in the July 19 email with 2022–23 parking options. Parking rates will remain flat for now as discussions continue with the university community. The story below relays the updated rates, which you can also find on the MoveVU website.
We understand that the changing costs of the various parking options may have affected your choice between an annual permit and the daily parking program. You can use the updated parking calculator to determine your individualized parking costs based on your parking and transportation needs.
If you paid for the parking permit upfront before this change occurred, you will receive a refund for the difference. Please allow 7–14 business days for the adjustment to be reflected in your account. If you have not received the refund by Sept. 5, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you elected to pay through a payroll deduction, the correct monthly fee will be processed on Sept. 1.
Vanderbilt University offers a variety of parking options to best fit your individual needs as you commute to campus. As a reminder, current annual permits expire Aug. 31. If you park on campus, you are required to have a parking permit or use hourly paid parking options.
The MoveVU Parking Calculator
For a personalized recommendation based on your parking and transportation needs, use the parking calculator linked below. It will consider your Vanderbilt affiliation, how often and where you will be on campus and what sustainable commute opportunities are available to you and provide a comparison of the estimated monthly cost for each parking option.
If you have additional questions or would like more help considering your best options, contact the MoveVU Commute Concierge.
Daily Parking Program
Vanderbilt offers a daily parking program that includes five parking locations. Participants pay to park only on days they drive a vehicle to campus. Only daily parking participants have access to the daily parking facilities and are eligible for sustainable commute incentives and programs.
Rates: $3.50 per day at Terrace Place Garage and West Garage. $5 per day at Sony Garage, Wesley Place Garage and Lot 76A. Only pay on days you park on campus.
Sustainable Commute Incentive: Earn $0.50 when you carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or take the bus or train; access the Guaranteed Ride Home program.
- Existing daily parking program participants: If you are already enrolled, you do not need to reapply. Check your enrollment status.
- New applicants: Applications are continually accepted on a rolling basis. You must apply by the 25th of the month to be enrolled by the first of the following month.
Annual Permit Options
Individuals with annual permits can park in any nonreserved parking space in an annual permit lot on campus. View all available lots on the parking map.
Current parking permits expire on Aug. 31. Registration is now open for the permit start date of Sept. 1.
Use the parking calculator to be shown your monthly cost comparison to the daily parking program.
Annual permit holders may switch to the daily parking program at any point in the year via the rolling applications listed above.
A new, interactive parking map displays all annual parking permit and hourly paid parking locations to make it easier for you to see which options are convenient for you.
Several lots and garages will not be available in the 2022–23 academic year due to ongoing construction on campus. Please be sure to review all available locations on the parking map and check MyVU for updates.
