Fall Faculty Assembly will be in person on Sept. 1

Chancellor Daniel Diermeier, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs C. Cybele Raver, and the Faculty Senate will celebrate faculty achievements and provide key university updates at the 2022 Fall Faculty Assembly on Thursday, Sept. 1.

Many of the university’s highest honors will be presented during the in-person gathering, which takes place at 4:10 p.m. in the Student Life Center Ballroom. A group of Blair School of Music faculty members will perform a musical prelude beginning at 4 p.m.

All full-time university faculty members will receive an invitation to the assembly.

Faculty Senate Chair Rebecca R. Swan, professor of pediatrics and assistant dean for graduate medical education, will join Diermeier in presenting the fall awards:

Earl Sutherland Prize for Achievement in Research

Thomas Jefferson Award

Chancellor’s Award for Research

Chancellor’s Award for Research on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

In addition, faculty marking 25 years of service to the university will be recognized.

The assembly will conclude with an outdoor reception in the Student Life Center courtyard. This year’s Fall Faculty Assembly will not be livestreamed, but it will be recorded for viewing later on YouTube and the Faculty Senate portal.
