Update (Aug. 18): Due to rising inflation costs, the university is pausing the planned increase of parking rates that was announced in the email on July 19 with 2022-23 parking options. Parking rates will remain flat for now as we continue discussions with the university community. The story below relays the updated rates, which you can also find on the MoveVU website.
We understand that the changing costs of the various parking options may have affected your choice between an annual permit and the daily parking program. You can use the updated parking calculator to determine your individualized parking costs based on your parking and transportation needs. If you wish to switch from an annual permit to the daily parking program, you can learn how to do that below.
If you paid for the parking permit upfront before this change occurred, you will receive a refund for the difference. It may take 7-14 business days for the adjustment to show up in your account. If you have not received the refund by September 5, please email parking@vanderbilt.edu. If you elected to pay through a payroll deduction, the correct monthly fee will be processed on Sept. 1.
The following information is for graduate and professional students.
Vanderbilt University offers a variety of parking options to best fit your individual needs as you commute to campus. As a reminder, current annual permits expire Aug. 31. If you park on campus, you are required to have a parking permit or use hourly paid parking options.

Daily Parking Program
Vanderbilt offers a daily parking program that includes five parking locations. Participants pay to park only on days they drive a vehicle to campus. Only daily parking participants have access to the daily parking facilities and are eligible for sustainable commute incentives and programs.
Rate: $3.50 per day at Terrace Place Garage and West Garage. $5 per day at Sony Garage, Wesley Place Garage and Lot 76A. Only pay on days you park on campus.
Sustainable Commute Incentive: Earn $0.50 when you carpool, vanpool, bike, walk or take the bus or train; access the Guaranteed Ride Home program.
Use Commodore Cash: Parking charges and commute incentives are debited and credited within your Commodore Cash account. Make sure to load funds before you park; $120 is recommended to start. The deductions occur once a week.
Application Process:
- Existing daily parking program participants: If you are already enrolled, you do not need to reapply. Check your enrollment status.
- New applicants: Applications are continually accepted on a rolling basis. You must apply by the 25th of the month to be enrolled by the first of the following month.
