Both northbound lanes of 21st Avenue near Edgehill Avenue will be closed on Saturday, July 16, due to crane work at VUMC’s Medical Center North building.
To allow northbound traffic to access 21st Avenue, one southbound lane will become a northbound lane for the duration of the project. For the safety of vehicles and pedestrians, traffic controllers and signs will be on site to direct traffic.
In addition, the sidewalk in front of Medical Center North will be closed from approximately 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 16. Pedestrians are encouraged to cross over to the east sidewalk during this work (see map below).
For portions of the project, the 21st Avenue pedestrian bridge may be closed. Flaggers will be stationed at each side of the bridge to direct pedestrian traffic accordingly.
