Jacob Schroeder, a member of Vanderbilt University’s Class of 2022, has been recognized by the American Enterprise Institute with an honorable mention in its Academic Awards Programs for Civil Discourse in Public Policy.
The awards recognize undergraduate participants in AEI programming who demonstrate and uphold values and ideals central to the purpose of the institute and its Academic Programs department. Those values and ideals include academic excellence, outstanding leadership, a passion for public policy, and engagement in civil discourse.
Recipients demonstrate in their academic and extracurricular work an appreciation of the institutions and beliefs central to AEI, such as democratic government, free enterprise, American strength and global leadership, solidarity with those at the periphery of our society, and a pluralistic, entrepreneurial culture.
Schroeder, who majored in economics and history and minored in Spanish and business, served as chair of AEI’s Executive Council at Vanderbilt, which was recognized as the most improved council for the 2019–20 academic year. As a recipient of the Ainslie World Travel Fellowship, he is currently travelling abroad to more than 15 countries and is leading the international expansion of an Argentinian tech startup. When Schroeder returns to the United States, he will work as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in their Houston office.
