Update: The crane schedule has changed. Work initially scheduled for June 13 has been rescheduled for June 21.
Repairs to the roof of the university’s Powerhouse will begin on Monday, June 6. This work will include the use of a portable crane on June 6, 13 and 24.
While the crane is in use, the service road east of the roundabout at the end of Vanderbilt Place, between the Powerhouse and Rand/Sarratt halls, will be impacted from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to avoid the area and find alternative walking routes.
The work will continue until mid-July. The service road will be open except for the partial impacts on the three crane workdays. Work will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Noise is expected to remain at a minimum and not disrupt the surrounding buildings.
