Repairs at university Powerhouse to result in road closure July 7

Update: The third crane lift at the university’s Powerhouse has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 7.

Repairs to the roof of the university’s Powerhouse will begin on Monday, June 6.

While the crane is in use, the service road east of the roundabout at the end of Vanderbilt Place, between the Powerhouse and Rand/Sarratt halls, will be impacted from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to avoid the area and find alternative walking routes.

The work will continue until mid-July. The service road will be open except for the partial impacts on the three crane workdays. Work will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Noise is expected to remain at a minimum and not disrupt the surrounding buildings.
