Sign up to be a faculty marshal for Commencement 2022

Faculty who would like to be a 2022 faculty marshal can now RSVP to participate. Faculty marshals are central to Commencement, creating a dignified and beautiful celebration of Vanderbilt graduates and their academic achievement.

Marshals serve as conductors of movement during Commencement and provide essential assistance in guiding students, other faculty, alumni and guests of honor to their designated places for the ceremony. Faculty marshals from all 10 colleges and schools are needed.

Replies are requested by Wednesday, April 6.

This year, the main Commencement ceremony, which includes all university graduates, will take place on Friday, May 13, at 9 a.m. at Vanderbilt Stadium. After the recessional of graduate and professional students and their faculty, the undergraduate diploma ceremony will immediately follow in the same location.

Marshals may serve in the main and/or the undergraduate diploma ceremonies. Details about marshal training are being finalized and will be shared soon with those who sign up to serve at Commencement.
