Student Care Network drop-in and satellite services provide a quick and convenient way for students to consult privately and one-on-one with a staff member regarding a current concern, explore support options and establish connections with resources on the student’s schedule.
The Office of Student Care Coordination offers drop-in care coordination. Drop-in care coordination meetings are a way for students to meet quickly with a care coordinator to discuss any immediate needs, including planning for a successful semester, identifying and connecting with support resources, connecting with the University Counseling Center and taking a medical leave of absence (MLOA).
The Center for Student Wellbeing offers several drop-in services, including well-being and academic coaching, meditation, yoga and recovery support. Through academic coaching, students can polish study skills and learn to manage their time to apply those skills effectively. Well-being coaching is a good fit for students who would like support around emotional well-being, stress management, life transitions, social support and personal health.
The University Counseling Center offers drop-in consultations, an outreach program that provides easy access to informal, confidential and free consultations with UCC providers. Several drop-in consultations are identity-based to provide affirming support to students who desire a tailored resource that directly aligns with their identities. A drop-in consultation is a good fit for students who:
- are not sure about counseling and wonder what it’s like to talk with a counselor;
- are not interested in ongoing counseling but would like the perspective of a counselor;
- have a specific problem and would like to talk it through with a counselor; or
- have a concern about a friend and want some thoughts about what to do.
Various other campus partners offer drop-in services, including: the Career Center, STEM Tutoring, Project Safe, the Writing Studio and the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life. To view all current drop-in opportunities, please visit the Student Care Network Satellite Services webpage.
