We are saddened by the tragic death of a member of the construction team at the site of the former Carmichael Towers along West End Avenue. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is investigating. At this time, it appears that the individual died of natural causes and that this was not work-site related.
We work closely with our external construction partners to maintain the safety and security of our building sites and are also looking into the matter. Any questions regarding details of the investigation should be directed to MNPD, which serves as the lead agency on death investigations on campus per their memorandum of understanding with Vanderbilt University Public Safety.
