A memorial service and celebration of life will be held for undergraduate student Ruth Aklilu on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 5 p.m. in Benton Chapel. With support from the Center for Spiritual and Religious Life and the Office of the Dean of Students, Aklilu’s friends have planned a celebration that will include readings and remarks, music and some of her favorite snacks. There also will be an opportunity to sign a card for Aklilu’s family.
Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff are invited to join Aklilu’s friends and family in celebration and support. Please note participants will be asked to follow the university’s health and safety protocols during the event to protect the health and safety of those in attendance.
