Geo-Jobe, on behalf of the Vanderbilt University Facilities department, will fly a fixed-wing drone over campus on Saturday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Facilities department schedules a drone flyover twice a year to capture aerial footage and imagery of the tree canopy on campus. This imagery is also used by Facilities’ Geographic Information Services (GIS) department to update campus maps to accurately reflect the landscape.
The drone flight is university approved and not expected to disrupt any activities scheduled on campus. If the weather on Saturday is unfavorable, the flight will take place on Sunday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
