Alcohol drinkers sought for research study

Researchers at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing are performing studies on drinking patterns and quantitative measures (alcohol drinking questions and an alcohol consumption blood marker). This study will require two to three visits to the Vanderbilt University’s Wesley Place or School of Nursing.

The study may be a good fit if you:

  • regularly drink alcohol, especially on weekends; and
  • are 18–30 years old.

Where will the research take place?

The visits will take place at Wesley Place (2043 Scarritt Place, Nashville, 37240), or the third floor of VUSN’s Godchaux Hall in a private space (clinic room 319).

If you decide to volunteer for this study, the requirements include:

  • height, weight and blood pressure being measured;
  • a finger prick to obtain several drops of blood; and
  • questionnaires to complete.

Participants will receive compensation ($50 stipend at each of the two visits).

The researcher conducting this study is Mariann R. Piano, Nancy and Hilliard Travis Professor of Nursing at VUSN.
