Vanderbilt’s Office of Emergency Management will host an emergency tabletop exercise on Tuesday, Dec. 7. This exercise will include stakeholders from across the university who could play a key role in response efforts during an emergency or incident affecting campus.
Tabletop exercises are discussion-based sessions where team members meet in an informal setting to discuss their roles during an emergency and their responses to a particular emergency situation.
This exercise provides Vanderbilt Public Safety personnel, Vanderbilt stakeholders and external first responders an opportunity to collaborate on a scenario-based exercise as part of the university’s ongoing emergency preparedness efforts. Last year, the exercise evaluated campus communication protocols, emergency response and evacuation procedures.
